    Mission Statement

    To show art, promote emerging artists and increase public awareness of the variety and value of art through synergistic community events and creative environments.


    How we translate that:

    ArtVanSF focuses on shows and events as a way to involve people in art. The entertaiment aspect of these events encourages curiosity and genuine interest and the reactions have been spectacular. Our events have been covered in the Chronicle, on KPIX channel 5 news, the red herring and solon.com to mention just a few. We are proud of the fact that we have created such a reaction to art, rather than simply a movement within it. This is important because the culture in which we currently live has neglected art to the point where it is often just an after thought in school, your house, our community and everyday conversation. We've become preoccupied by corporate initiatives, commercialism, republicanism and the main stream media. Through our wacky and fun filled events, we are helping to bring the discussion in the community back to topics of art and the enjoyment and enrichment it brings to our lives.
